Assign To: User List

Is it possible to customize the list of users in the Assign To element's list?  I'd like to be able to reduce the selection of eligible assignees rather than showing one huge list of all users with collect privileges.  Either by pointing to a custom list, or some other method of filtering the list.

  I like this idea, thanks for the request! Can you tell me more about the specifics of your use case? I'd like to know when the Assign-To element is used and what factors involve who the record should be assigned to. It will help our team understand the necessary restrictions and identify requirements.

  From Clinton: In our use-case, we’d use the location information for the job site to decide which reviewer(s) (assignee) would be eligible and thus present a list of only those people. In our business, we have area supervisors that review reports from technicians in a certain geographical zone. So we’d have defined lookup tables that would contain the reviewers and their zone, and based on that filter the choices in the assign-to element list.
