Filter options in Smart Table Search
I think smart table search could become even more useful if you could filter the options based on another field in the table. For example if I have a database table of order IDs and their associated customers, and on my form I have the customer ID specified, I'd like to filter my smart table search results using the customer ID.
We are currently using this feature with option lists and condition values, but we would like to be able to use a similar process for STS because it would allow a faster download of new options as new lookup records become available.

Hi Jonathan,
For me I think the most important thing would be to filter based on a separate field other than the lookup field. In my case I have a lot of locations where I generate a lot of records. I would like to search only the records that occurred in a certain location but return information based on a different lookup field.

Lea,
We've been discussing this as a feature enhancement, but it would be a significant change so we're trying to learn as much as possible about the current limitations of Smart Table Search and in what ways people would want to see it become more powerful. Can you give us some examples (I'm sure WDFW has more than one) where a filtered Smart Table Search would be beneficial?
Are you looking to filter based on the lookup field? based on a field other than the lookup field? based on a static value or dynamic value? etc. The more details the better!

Hi Dave and Lea,
Take a look at what we have shared below and the research we are doing on Smart Table Search. Please share your comments and feedback as I believe what you are asking will be accomplished by this.
Thanks,
-Ben
