    Hi, Carol.

Thanks for posting. Can you provide some more detail on your current workflow? Is each shellfish its own record or are simply trying to move from one element to the next? Would love to get a better understanding of your collection workflow. Thanks!

    Hi Joe.

Each shellfish is its own record with its own unique ID or key field in my Access database.  Seems to me that if the shellfish can be listed one after the other then there should be a way to delineate them and assign a unique ID as I move them into the Access database.

Thank you for look into this Joe.

    Hi Joe & Carol,

I've also had similar thoughts - recording length frequencies of shellfish and fish is a bit of a pain in IFB since you have to create a new record for every length frequency record. My typical setup is a record in a parent form for the species/haul, with a subform containing each length frequency record.

For shellfish, I am thinking of utilizing an independent shellfish length board and merging the data with the tablet IFB data afterward.

For other species, I think it would be useful in IFB to have the option to view a subform in 'batch edit' mode, where all of the subform records for a species would be visible in a table form for editing; this is how I have seen length-frequency data added in other electronic systems for many years. I'm sure there are other use cases for this besides length frequency data. Granted, a better option would be a hardware integration of a length frequency board directly with IFB.
