In development: Enhanced Map Based Record View
Our development team is hard at work on an all-new Map Based Record View.
Many Engineering and Field Services inspections are done based on geographic location and enhancing our existing mapping functionality is important.
Our New Map View will include the following functionality:
- New basemaps leveraging MapBox technology.
- The ability to select points on a screen by drawing shapes around those points.
- The ability to assign records to users from the Map-Based Record View.
- Dynamic table view inside the map to view data in the selected records.
Have a look at this quick video walkthrough to see some of the cool stuff in action:
How do see your teams using a feature like this? We’d love to hear your point of view as we develop this next, great enhancement.

Thanks for the feedback John. We are planning on having that included but it would be a polygon with as many sides as possible. We will be sharing some more details shortly on this. In the meantime please take a look at this link and click the polgyon tool in the top right of the map for a demo of how you would draw the polgyon. https://www.mapbox.com/mapbox-gl-js/example/mapbox-gl-draw/

Hi Joe - looks like interesting feature.
Is it possible that the user can select a telephone number from the displayed data and, by touching it directly, dial the number? So avoiding having to copy the number as a separate act? At the moment this is not possible withing iForms, but is a common feature of most apps.

I like this application but it could use some tweaks:
Put a select all or select none check box on the show/hide elements drop down tab. We only need a few elements to show for bulk assignments and it takes forever to uncheck every box individually. Also it would be nice to be able to sort the data columns like we can in the database. When we are doing bulk assignments, we look for he insured name alphabetically or the address, by sorting we can find the appropriate record faster.See video capture
