Add Direction/Destination Bearing to Photo Metadata in Image Widget
It would be great to add capture of direction/bearing information to the photo metadata included in photos taken using the camera from an Image widget. Of the things that are captured by the native Camera app, Destination Bearing would really be helpful. Also useful but of lesser priority would be Altitude and HPositioningError. If we at least had Destination Bearing, we could drop a whole directory of image links into GIS and it would automatically locate the photos by their GPS coordinates, and importantly, would create direction arrows to show the direction the photo was taken. Altitude and HPositioningError would be more useful from a quality control/review standpoint, but still helpful. Anyone else think this would be a good addition? There are lots of other reasons why more metadata-rich photos from the Image widget would be awesome, I'm just listing the top reason it'd be helpful for our uses.

Re-upping this feature request. Would anyone else out there find it useful to also have the direction a photo was taken recorded in the metadata when captured inside iForms? Would make a huge difference to photo-based data and workflows!
UPDATE: Looks like Altitude is now included! Almost there...

Kam,
Thanks for re-upping. This is good feedback and is noted by the team. Also, not sure if you know of any services of more advanced image functionalities that we can have a look at integrating with? Here is one that one of our customers is using: https://www.companycam.com/ Basically they take pictures on this service separately while performing work on iForm.

Thanks, Penny. I've seen a few similar products/services slide through my inbox but don't remember their names. We don't use a separate photo capture service at the moment. Our photos are used in different ways for different projects and surveys and are rarely what our work flows revolve around, so a separate service entirely for photos might be more than we need but will take a look at the link you sent.

Re-Re-Upping :-) ... This addition would be extremely helpful. I understand you can get the EXIF data from the photo itself but this requires moving the actual photo from the device to local storage and breaks the link to any other data collected along with the photo. I don't see why it would be too hard to achieve as the device stores this information (if enabled) with the metadata associated with the photo. I would suspect that it would just be adding some code to interrogate and record this information. I really think this feature request should be considered. As always, would appreciate iForm's view on the matter.
Kind Regards
David
