Option to zoom in on current location/use current location with ESRI Widget.
CompletedESRI widget is great, but it would be nice to be able to turn on a locator which would zoom to your current location on the map when adding a record with the widget. I would also like the option to switch basemaps when using the ESRI widget, but I'll dig into that with another post. Thanks!
Update (5/25/16):
iForm now allows switching of basemaps and has a locator feature, however it does not automatically zoom to your location. I would like to see the ESRI Widget default to a users location, rather than somewhere in Kansas... The crosshairs are also very difficult to see when viewing aerial imagery, so maybe the color could change depending on which basemap is in use.
It would also be cool if we had an option in the form builder to set the default basemap to aerial imagery.

I was very excited to see in the release notes for 8.5 that the map interface had been updated, but greatly disappointed when I noticed that this functionality is still missing. The new aerial basemap is nice, but I'd much prefer having an option to collect at my current location. The little "target" symbol needs to go or be a secondary option for collecting with the map. I feel like this keeps getting overlooked, when it's a standard feature in most mapping apps.

Hi Folks,
We are working on this in the next iOS and Android releases. For new records we will be zooming to your current location at the same scale as the current location element does today.
We would like to get feedback if you change the location of an existing record by selecting it from the map view. Should we zoom to your current location or should we zoom to the location of the esri widget for that particular record?
Thanks for your help in advance and we will bring this long time request to life.

If I understand you correctly you mean entering a record already created with a selected point and if you go back into it whether it zooms to that point or to your current location? Its been a while since I used esri widget because it just wasn't functional for us as it can only be on the parent form it didn't work on a subform. If that has changed I would be very interested to know. Anyway I would say that it should zoom to the selected point but allow you to pan it to your location using the cross-hairs showing where you are in relation to the selected point.

I agree with Lea I think.
If the the record is ever opened for editing, I'd like to see it zoom to the original submitted location for that record, but have the ability to edit the location on the map if desired. A button to zoom to current location would still be a good option, in case the user would like to change the location to where they are currently.
I'm also wondering if it will be possible to parse out the latitude and longitude from the ESRI widget and populate into another element? We still rely on the location element to make this happen, but having the ESRI widget and Location widget in a single form is a bit redundant. Handy to have the lat long to build links for google maps, etc.
Lastly, I'd still love to see an option to default to aerial imagery if possible.
Thanks for digging into this request!

Hi Lea and Brant,
Appreciate your feedback we will put the crosshairs where the existing esri element latitude longitude is located and allow you to move from there.
Brant to parse our the information from Esri widget I did try this using esri_element_name.latitude and esri_element_name.longitude and it worked but it took some time for the data to load into the form. I will chat with our development team here on making this work well.
In terms of defaulting imagery, this could be a page-level attribute that we have recently added just like Map Priority or Map Top Location Enabled.
Thanks again for the feedback here!
