I thought I would float an idea in regards to the AssignTo widget.

 

It would be great in the future if we would be able to put Dynamic values for this.

 

Imagine a situation where there may be multiple processes to complete one form.  A user could complete their section, and based on some of their answers, it would be assigned to the next correct person in the chain, without them having to manually pick a person of a list, or somebody having to re-assign the form through the admin panel.

We could then write conditions based on the logged in user to automatically push it to their relevant supervisor, or answer based to the relevant next person in the chain.

  Hi gents, this is possible either through client side JavaScript, or using APIs to build an assignment workflow.

  Could you provide a sample javascript. I tried assigning through dynamic value some time ago and it did not work.

  Hi Antoine, you can use iformbuilder.username along with any condition you like to populate the AssignTo widget.

  More robust assignment workflows should be handled on the server side using APIs
