The development of the STS text fields is a very useful tool, however it would be more beneficial if we could pass a value from the form to filter the STS return values, like a conditional value in a normal picklist.

E.g. If I was completing a STS on "Projects" column out of a project db, I would want to pass a "state" variable off the form to limit the "Projects" returned.
