Hi Dee, records that have been uploaded to the server can only be deleted from the server. In previous years when records that were already uploaded were deleted from the device side it created inconsistencies in data (as deleting that record from the device doesn't actually delete anything from the server).

By allowing the previous behavior, it causes problems with JavaScript calculations and is not something we plan to allow moving forward. Instead, a status field should be used to indicate a record the field user would like to delete, and then have those records cleaned up after they have been reviewed.

    Hope that helps,

    Tony

"Hi Tony, What do you mean by “status field” … what field type and how would this be used? a status field should be used to indicate a record the field user would like to delete, and then have those records cleaned up after they have been reviewed. Thanks, Dee Ann Huss"

Hi Dee, an option list based field (select or pick-list) would work well to minimize errors. Instead of performing the delete action, they would open the record, change the status field to "Delete" and then upload the data as usual.

By changing the status, the field team is telling the admin team that record is no longer needed, and therefore could be deleted after a review is performed.

    Does that help?
