New Form Builder - Database friendly key values
CompletedHi,
In the classic form builder when you add a list option it automatically generates key values in a database friendly format (underscores for spaces, lower case, no special characters)
However, in the new form builder key values aren't database friendly. I see this as a major issue, and actually a bug as it is a fundamentally changes the data we are collecting (into unusable data) through a software upgrade.
Can you please get back to me on this?
Thanks

Hi Ciaran, we intend to keep the behavior as we have seen many requests over the years to have key_values match the labels for easier reporting / use of the data outside of iFormBuilder.
Can you explain a bit more how the data is not usable? The key_values have always allowed spaces and special characters (it was just time consuming to make the keys match the labels.
The key_values can be manipulated to not have the same value as the label (we just made it easier for labels and keys to be the same). If you wanted to have different keys from labels, then using CSV upload to build options is ideal as you can set each value very specifically.
This change is very intentional to solve the problem in this video with a lot less hoops to jump through.

Hi all,
In the new form builder, Option List key values now default to database friendly characters, meaning any special characters (commas, spaces, etc) will be converted to underscores. For flexibility, these key values can be overwritten if you would like to change key values to non-database friendly columns.
