What is happening?
The time has come where we are no longer going to support iOS 9 for the iForm App and any White Labels. This means that once we deploy an updated App, users running iOS 9 will not be able to take any future App updates and iOS 10 will be our new minimum required operating system.
When is this happening?
This will take place in March of 2022
Why is this happening?
We are doing this for the following reasons:
- iOS 9 is five years old. Since then Apple has released 5 new iOS versions with various security and functional improvements.
- We are unable to implement new iOS best practices that will improve the speed and reliability of the application due to still supporting iOS 9.
- There are a variety of 3rd party components that are used for troubleshooting that are unable to be used for users running iOS 9. (Crashalaytics, Material, etc)
What is the new minimum Operating System?
iOS 10
What if I have a White Label?
If you have a White Label version of the iForm Application, all of the above details still apply to the white label. We are planning on providing each customer with a final white label build that supports iOS 9 before March 2022 so that any users still running iOS 9 will receive the most up-to-date build. Any of the users on iOS 9 must use that build or update their iOS Devices (if possible) to iOS 10 to continue receiving future updates.
