Error: Device ID Cannot be Blank

If you are receiving this error on your Android device, this may be due to changes to the Google Play Store requirements implemented in September 2020. Google is requiring all applications to upgrade to a newer SDK Version and this new version does not allow us to use the existing Device ID. You can more about this change here.

Unfortunately, Huawei Devices will not be able to retrieve the device_id because they currently have a ban in the US. Given that Google is a U.S.-based company, Huawei cannot use any of the Google services on the device. You can read more about the Huawei ban here.

Google Play Services is required to use the iForm Application. If you are using a Huawei device and seeing this error, we recommend that you switch to a device that allows for Google Play Services.
