Android Release Notes
In our iForm app version 7.8 release on April 17th we introduced a bug where Sound element media would not successfully upload to the cloud. We are actively working on a fix to this issue. Please read below to see if you are affected and what we are doing about it:
Who is affected?
You are affected if you are using the iForm App for Android on Version 7.8 7.9 and 7.10 and you have Sound elements in your forms.
Was Data Lost?
The sound media captured using any of the affected versions above does not exist in the data tables. We are investigating if there are any possible ways to retrieve this data from the android devices. All other data elements in forms were not affected.
What are we doing about it?
We are actively working on a fix and are planning to release a patch as soon as we can. To prevent this in the future, we have enhanced our internal testing to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We are going to continue to analyze affected forms that contain a sound element and followup with those groups individually. Our team will do our best to make this as painless as possible.
Who can I speak to on this matter?
Please reach out directly to truth@zerionsoftware.com, or submit a request to our Help Center.
We take data loss very seriously, and once discovered we immediately started to resolve the issue. We continually strive to enhance our testing products and code reviews to ensure this does not happen in the future. We know we are not perfect but we want to be as transparent as possible when data loss issues arise and improve moving forward.
