What is the Number element?
The Number element allows users to collect numbers with the device's keypad.
PLEASE NOTE: Data entered into a number field will be rounded after the 14th digit and stored in the database as scientific notation. If you want to maintain the integrity of the number, please use the Text Element with a Custom Keyboard.
How do I add the Number element to my form?
To add the Number element to your form, please follow the instructions below.
STEP 1. With your form loaded in the Form Builder, click the Number button from the left-hand menu.
STEP 2. On the right-hand side, you'll see the element properties. Enter the name of your element.
PLEASE NOTE: If you check the Based on Label option, it will create a data column based on the Label on the element.
STEP 3. Save your form.
Why does the Number element default to zero?
When you are using a Dynamic Value with the Number element, you may find that upon creating a new record that this field defaults to zero (0). The reason for this is because the number element will start off with a 'null' value, which for this type of element is zero, and it will always show due to it being a legit value.
If you are wanting to use a dynamic value statement while also have it show up blank upon creating a new record, we recommend using a Text element with a keyboard type Number pad instead.
