iFormBuilder Troubleshooting Errors
ERROR: Unable to Parse XML Request
When trying to sync your device, you may run into the following error: Unable to parse request XML
There are a couple reasons this error may occur.
1. A poor WiFi connection can cause this error. When the connection times out due to a poor signal, the response is validated as proper XML, thus creating the error message. This won't preclude you from continuing to collect data, however, we do recommend that you wait to sync your device until you are in an area with a strong WiFi connection.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are in an area with a weak WiFi connection, we also recommend that you turn off Auto-Sync and Sync on Start so that the device doesn't continue to throw connection errors while collecting data.
2. Another possible cause is if the record that is syncing has too many photos on one level and/or the photos are too large. Sometimes even with a strong LTE connection, the record won't be able to make it to the server. We'd strongly recommend using multi-paging photo subforms (subforms with one photo element that can be created multiple times) to avoid this issue. This will allow each photo to go up one at a time instead of trying to upload all at once which cause the overall record size to large.
