What are Data Views?

The iFormBuilder Data Views are simple reports generated in the browser by consuming the JSON feed. The Data Views will display the element labels, as opposed to data column names in the Data Feeds.

How do I view my data in Excel?

PLEASE NOTE: If you'd like an Excel export that includes all metadata, use the Excel Data Feed in lieu of the Excel Data View.

To export your data using the Excel Data Views, please follow the instructions below.

STEP 1. From inside the admin portal, click the Data tab.

STEP 2. Highlight the form for the data you'll be viewing and click either Excel or Excel Flat.

The Excel file will be downloaded to your computer.

Exporting Tips

If you run into an issue where the page is timing out, this is most likely due to there being too much data for the server to handle. The data size depends on the amount of records, subforms/multiple layers, media files, etc.

• Try filtering the data using data filters and start with half the records, then go into smaller chunks.
• If you have a dedicated database, use the Custom Excel feature to export your data. This feature uses our background processing engine and also enables us to asynchronously process the request and customize the output without timing out.
