iFormBuilder Data
What's covered:
What are Subforms?
Subforms can be used to create sub-sections of a larger form. They should take form elements that would originally be on the Parent Form and add them to a separate form that will be linked to the Parent Form.
What is a Multi-Paging Subform?
A multi-paging Subforms allows the user to capture multiple records under the same Subform element. This can be great for data such as Images, Text Areas and any elements that capture large amounts of the data.
Use multi-paging subforms so that when capturing large amounts of data, the records go up one at a time instead of trying to go all at once which can cause issues with data upload.
How do I view Subform data?
PLEASE NOTE: When using subforms it is recommended that you DO NOT give out Collect rights to the forms being used as a Subform.
To view Subform data, please follow the instructions below.
STEP 1. Click the Page ID of the parent form where the Subform resides.
STEP 2. The Subform element of the Parent form will show something similar to Subform(3). This is saying there were three Subform records collected under that element. Click the Subform(#).
The Subform records associated with this Parent record will be displayed.
Another way to view subform data is to go directly into the subform records that were collected from Data Views just like you did with the Parent form above.
PLEASE NOTE: You must have View rights to the Subform in order to go directly to it.
iFormBuilder Tip: Subform records relate back to their Parent record using PARENT_RECORD_ID, PARENT_PAGE_ID, and PARENT_ELEMENT_ID. These values are found in the record metadata (any of the Data Feeds) and help you maintain the relationship between your data, no matter how complex the structure.
