Form Builder Common Questions
What's covered:
When would I want to disable an element?
There a few instances where disabling element (as opposed to deleting or editing) can come in handy.
- You want to change the element type (ie. Text to Text Area), but don't want to lose the data you previously collected. Disabled the current element and creating a new element in its place allows you to retain the data previously collected.
- You no longer want to collect data under that element, but want to retain previous data.
- You need a smaller or larger data size for the info you're collecting. Disable instead of changing so that you don't lose your data.
- Same with Encryption. Changing Encryption on an element will drop the data so instead of editing, disable the element and create a new one in its place.
