What is the Unique ID element?
The Unique ID element creates a distinct identifier that can be customized using a prefix field within the form builder.
PLEASE NOTE: The Unique ID is generated on the server side once the record has been successfully submitted. It is commonly hidden on the device using a condition value of false.
How do I add the Unique ID element to my form?
Please follow the instructions below to add the Unique ID element to your form.
STEP 1. From inside the form builder, select the Unique ID icon.
STEP 2. On the right-hand side, you'll see the element properties. Enter the name of your element.
Note that checking the Based on Label option will create a data column based on the Label on the element.
STEP 3. Add your prefix from the Element Properties tab in the Masking field.
STEP 4. Save your form.
Once you've uploaded a record containing the Unique ID field to the server, you'll see the ID has been populated.
Classic Builder: Unique ID Element
Please follow the instructions below to add the Unique ID element using the Class Builder.
STEP 1. Click the Add New Input button.
STEP 2. On the right-hand side, you'll see the element properties. Enter the name of your element.
Note that checking the Based on Label option will create a data column based on the Label on the element.
STEP 3. Under the Input Properties tab, select the Unique ID input type.
STEP 4. In the Prefix field, add your unique prefix.
STEP 5. Click Save.
Once you've uploaded a record containing the Unique ID field to the server, you'll see the ID has been populated.
