What is the Location element?
The Location element is used to capture GPS data of the current geolocation when the element is activated. Inside this element, you can select Refresh to have the application capture updated data. The Location element stores its data in variables that are accessible to other form fields.
Click here for more information on the Location element.
What is the current behavior of the Location element?
When the Location element is used on devices with languages other than English, captured data will be stored in the database in the language in which it was captured.
What's changing with the Location element?
Location element data will be stored in the database in a unified standard English language. The display of location data on the device would remain in the language that this device is set for.
PLEASE NOTE: The display of the location data on the device will remain in the language that the device is set for.
Why are these changes being made?
If the same form uses different languages, the location data is not unified for data analysis. This will unify how location data is stored in the database if it is being used to perform data analysis.
Who does this change affect?
This affects both iOS and Android users. Existing integrations may not work correctly if you are coding for the current format. Please prepare your code to account for the new format below.
Do you have an example of what this change will look like?
Below you will see an example of a device localized to Spanish. It shows both the old format and new format.
PLEASE NOTE: The location data will show in the device's language on the device side, but will show in English on the server-side.
When is this change happening?
We are planning on deploying this application update to the App Store and Google Play in the last week of July 2017.
