What is a Dataflow Reports action?
The Reports action enables records to be pushed to our customizable reporting and dashboarding service. When using the Reports action, records may be pushed to an existing table or a new table may be made from within the Dataflow Automation interface.
How do I create a Reports action?
To create a Reports action, please follow the instructions below.
STEP 1
With your Dataflow loaded, select the RecordSet that will push records into Zerion Reports.
Step 2
From the Actions drop-down menu, select Reports --> Zerion Reports.
Step 3
Enter a name for the Zerion Reports Action. PLEASE NOTE: This name will be displayed on the Dataflow.
Step 4
Select your Zerion Report DB from the drop-down menu. This will auto-populate the Zerion Report Table drop-down menu below. To create a new table, refer to STEP 5 (New). To use an existing table, refer to STEP 5 (Existing).
Step 5
NEW: Enter a name for the new table that will be created. Once entered, the Dataflow Builder will attempt to create a template table if the parent Dataflow contains records. Otherwise, a blank text area will be shown where a sample record may be pasted.
Next, click the Create Table button.
Once completed, the newly made table should be selected in the Zerion Report Action drop-down menu.
EXISTING: From the Zerion Report Table drop-down menu, select the table to be used. The body template will automatically be generated based on the columns in the table. Modify the Value column as necessary to map the record fields to the appropriate table columns.
STEP 6
Select the type of action to be done from the Zerion Report Action drop-down menu.
There are four available options:
- Add a Single Row - insert a new row into the reporting table.
- Update - update row(s) in the reporting table based on criteria.
- Update or Insert - update row(s) in the reporting table based on criteria, but if no records match then insert a new row.
- Delete - remove the row(s) in the reporting table based on criteria.
STEP 7
If you want the Dataflow Builder to create new columns based on incoming records, activate the checkbox labeled Automatically Add New Columns.
STEP 8
Click Save.
